Much has happened to Michael Gallina since we introduced him to you two years ago. He:
• was awarded the Janet McCauley Award for Behavioral and Social Sciences
• was named a University Scholar for being in the top 2% of undergraduate students
• graduated summa cum laude in April from Pitt-Bradford
• is on his way to graduate school

Pitt-Bradford received confirmation this year that it is making progress toward one of its top goals – affordability for all students – when it was named one of the 150 “Best Value Colleges” in American for 2012 by The Princeton Review.

From a monkey rodeo to the halls of the Capitol, from the playing fields of Arizona to the laundry room of a Hampton Inn in Chicago, Pitt-Bradford students have spent the summer getting a glimpse of their chosen careers.

Three students from Pitt-Bradford were chosen to travel to Bloomington, Ind., this summer to attend the Undergraduate Inter-Fraternity Institute, the premiere national Greek leadership institute. The leadership institute trains students to develop their personal leadership style based on a wide array of study including case studies, journaling, discussion, and hands-on training.

Pitt-Bradford contributed $67.5 million to the regional economy in 2011, according to a new study by the University of Pittsburgh Center for Social and Urban Research, which has performed economic impact studies for small colleges across western Pennsylvania.

For the ninth consecutive year, The Princeton Review has recognized Pitt-Bradford as one of the best colleges in the northeast.

Pitt-Bradford will host two scholars from the Confucius Institute during the 2012-13 academic year who will teach Chinese language and culture to Pitt-Bradford students.
