As you embark on this exciting journey, we want to ensure our new panthers start off on the right “paw.” We’re thrilled to invite you to Summer Orientation - your official introduction to life at Pitt-Bradford! You’ll explore campus, connect with fellow students, and develop your own roadmap for college success.

Summer Orientation

Before you arrive for your August move-in…

Summer Orientation is an opportunity for you to ask questions and receive information that ensures you are on track with the completion of key enrollment tasks and other next steps you could or should be completing over the summer. Panther parents/guardians and other supporters are welcome and encouraged to attend!

For Summer Orientation, we have three dates that provide the same information. You can choose one of the following one-day sessions:

Summer Orientation Dates

Friday, July 24, 2026 at 8:30am - 4:30pm

In-Person

Here’s some need-to-know info about your orientation:

Orientation sessions officially begin at 9:00 AM, with check-in open at 8:30AM.
Check-In: Frame-Westerberg Commons – lobby (FRWES on our campus map)
Parking: Use lots 6A, 6B, 8, 9, or 10
Free lunch provided to all attendees!

Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 5:30pm - 7:00pm

Online

If possible, we suggest selecting one of our in-person July dates: Online orientation is best suited for transfer students, or as a make-up option if you could not attend a July date.
Confirmation information: Including the Zoom link and any additional access details, confirmation information will be provided via email at a later date to all students who have registered for this orientation.
Zoom Check-In & Screen Name: Please join Zoom using your first and last name so we can check you in. We encourage you to visit my.pitt.edu to login to Zoom using your official Pitt login credentials.

For our in-person Summer Orientation dates, we wanted to share these key reminders:

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes - you'll be participating in a full day of indoor and outdoor activities, which includes walking around campus (comfortable sneakers encouraged). Check the weather and pack accordingly (umbrella, water bottle).

Arrange your travel plans ahead of time - We're happy to provide recommendations and information. The Best Western Plus in Bradford is offering 15% off your stay if you call directly (814-362-4501) and mention that you're visiting campus for Orientation.

No need to bring a bag - we'll provide students with a free drawstring bag at check-in.

Note-taking is encouraged - Students will also receive a Pitt-Bradford notepad and pen, but feel free to bring any additional note-taking materials you'd like.

Lodging Information in Bradford, Pennsylvania:

Local bus transportation is available for free for students with a valid Pitt-Bradford ID during the Fall & Spring terms via the Area Transportation Authority (ATA). View route and schedule information.

Mandatory New Student Orientation in August

Including your move-in process, we have a full weekend of activities to help you acclimate to campus before your classes begin!

Thursday, August 20 – Sunday, August 23, 2026

New students move in Thursday, August 20!
- Review your email for additional information from the Residence Life & Housing Office, which is usually sent out in early August. Make sure you submit your ID photo online a week prior to move-in.
Friday Farewells – August 21 2:00PM-2:45PM
- We know goodbyes are hard. Parents are welcome to stay Thursday to help with the move in process and attend our evening welcome activities. We encourage parents to depart after our Photos & Farewell Session on Friday 2:00PM-2:45PM so your student can start connecting with other new students and settling in before classes.
August Orientation is full of fun activities for our new Panthers!
- Free food, free t-shirts, prize opportunities, fireworks, and more – we have lots of exciting activities planned for your first weekend, including additional opportunities to connect with other new students, and learn more about resources and support we didn’t fully cover during Summer orientation.
