Nursing
You've always wanted to care for people, right? Make them feel better when they're sick? Help them live healthier lives? Well, that's exactly what a nurse does, so a nursing major may be a great choice for you.
Programs
We offer a bachelor’s degree in nursing, which gives you the skills you need to be successful and confident in the nursing field.
On your way to earning your bachelor’s degree in four years, you’ll first earn an associate degree, which will prepare you to take the National Council Licensure Examination – known as the NCLEX – to become a licensed, registered nurse.
Once you earn your associate degree and pass the NCLEX, you may choose to work as a nurse in a hospital or other healthcare setting while completing your bachelor’s degree.
Your path to earning your bachelor’s degree:
- Year one: You’ll take courses that meet the university’s graduation requirements, including Anatomy & Physiology, Psychology, and English.
- Year two: You’ll gain real-world experience during clinical time in a variety of local hospital and healthcare settings.
- Year three: Once you complete the spring term of this year, you’ll have completed the coursework required for the associate degree and will be eligible to take the RN licensure exam (NCLEX) and begin working as a registered nurse.
- Year four: You’ll take courses and have clinical experiences that will focus on nursing research, community health, and leadership development. The fourth year of study is offered in a hybrid fashion (55% in-person and 45% asynchronous) 2 days a week, complementing the work schedule if you choose to work as a registered nurse while completing your bachelor’s degree.

Survey Results & Outcome Data
Once again, we are happy to present the results of our annual graduate survey which we conduct each year in early spring. Our purpose in surveying the faculty and the graduates is to learn about the extent to which the faculty and the graduates perceive that the program of study prepared the graduate to meet the Student Learning Outcomes. The numbers reported in the tables reflect the average score on each item based on the completed surveys received from the faculty members and the graduates. We are pleased to note that faculty and graduates have consistently reported that the program of study prepared the graduate to meet the outcomes.
Alumni surveys for AS and RN-BSN graduates are mailed in the spring, one year following graduation. We encourage all the AS and RN-BSN graduates to complete and return your surveys to us. Your feedback is vital! Thank you!
