University of Pittsburgh Police Development Program

Pitt has launched a new program at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford centered on public safety personnel development and growth.

Become a change agent! Advance your career as a police officer at Pitt-Bradford.

Participate in Pitt’s Police Development Program and receive free Pennsylvania Police Academy certification, housing, a stipend and meals. Police academy training is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and valued at approximately $10,000.

Develop skills in exchange for two years of paid employment as an officer of the Pitt-Bradford police force following training program completion.

Gain individualized training and build strong relationships on a picturesque campus. Pitt-Bradford is a 491-acre regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh located in northwestern Pennsylvania, just minutes from the Allegheny National Forest. By serving 1,300 Pitt-Bradford students as well as its faculty and staff, you will be part of a welcoming, friendly and diverse campus community. Participants also will receive full University benefits, including excellent education and medical benefits.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree by December 2023 and qualify for the program, including meeting physical, medical and written requirements. Additional restrictions may apply.
