The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Halloran Fellows are organizing a two-day event Oct. 21 and 22 designed to empower young adults with entrepreneurial skills.

Kinetic Konnections aims to bridge the gap between Pitt-Bradford students and the Bradford community by identifying socio-economic challenges and collaboratively developing innovative solutions.

Kinetic Konnections promises an engaging and inspiring weekend, filled with activities that will nurture the entrepreneurial spirit in its participants. Over the course of two days, attendees will:

  • Learn Business Models: Gain valuable insights into business models and strategies that can turn ideas into successful ventures.
  • Craft a Mock Pitch: Hone pitching skills by crafting and presenting mock pitches in a supportive environment.
  • Workshop Ideas: Collaborate with local mentors who will provide guidance and feedback to help refine innovative concepts.
  • Explore Bradford: Embark on the captivating "Who We Are Tour" around Bradford with Mayor Tom Riel to better understand the community and its unique challenges.
  • Experience Escape Room Fun: Enjoy an exclusive sneak-peek into the thrilling Slice of the 80s escape room, adding an element of adventure to the weekend.
  • Hear from Pitt-Bradford Alumnus: Be inspired by Chris Napoleon ’86-’88, founder and owner of Napoleon Engineering, who will share his insights and experiences.

The highlight of the weekend will be the pitch competition on Sunday, where teams will present their innovative solutions. Second-place teams compete to be awarded gift certificates and there will be a surprise grand prize for the first-place team.

Kinetic Konnections is made possible through the sponsorship of The Halloran Philanthropies and powered by the Watson Institute. The event is led by the Halloran Fellows, a group of Pitt-Bradford students and community entrepreneurs working to develop business skills and build community.
