Pitt-Bradford Arts will host acclaimed author and editor Kim Chinquee as a visiting writer from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Studio Theater of Blaisdell Hall at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. The event is free and open to the public.

Chinquee is the author of 11 books, most recently “Contact with the Wild,” and her short fiction, nonfiction, and prose poetry have been featured in publications such as NOON, The Nation, Ploughshares, Indiana Review, Conjunctions, Denver Quarterly, Huffington Post and The Pushcart Prize collections.

In addition to her writing, she is chief editor of Elm Leaves Journal, senior editor of New World Writing Quarterly, prose poetry editor of Pithead Chapel, and nonfiction editor of Midwest Review. She also coordinates the writing major at SUNY Buffalo State University.

The Visiting Writers Series, presented by Pitt-Bradford Arts, brings nationally recognized authors to campus to share their work, discuss their creative process, and engage with students and community members.

“Programs like this connect our campus with the broader literary community and give our students direct access to accomplished writers,” said Courtney Mealy, director of arts programming at Pitt-Bradford. “We are thrilled to welcome Kim Chinquee to Bradford.”
