Family show “Buckets ‘n’ Boards” comes to campus

Comedy percussion show a headliner in Branson

Buckets N Boards

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will host the family show “Buckets ‘N’ Boards” Feb. 18, featuring not just buckets and boards, but also the talents of comedic percussionists Matt Levingston and Gareth Server.

The show will take place at 7 p.m. in the Bromeley Family Theater in Blaisdell Hall.

Based in Branson, Mo., capital of the family-appropriate American entertainment world, Server and Levingston met while working on another show as a tap dancer and a drummer. Having taught each other the basics of their crafts, the two began performing on the street, using buckets as drums because they were cheap, loud and attracted attention.

As street performers, they learned to work an audience and began to add bits of improvisational comedy until they had the bones of a show that is still about 25 percent audience participation and improvisation, making each performance different.

In addition to their residency at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, the pair frequently perform on Disney Cruises and have performed with the Kansas City Symphony.

From their imaginative songs, beautiful harmonies, dazzling tap dancing, crisp beatboxing, body percussion and bucket drumming, to a fresh and unique brand of clean comedy, Buckets N Boards has crafted an original theatrical experience enjoyable for all ages.

Tickets for the show are $10 each and are available at www.upb.pitt.edu/TheArts or by calling 814-362-5113. Face coverings are required inside all Pitt-Bradford buildings. For more information on Buckets ‘N’ Boards, visit BucketsnBoards.com.
