Short Bio
Before coming to Pitt-Bradford, Yaich served as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan, where she conducted independent research on Drosophila neural development. Prior to that, she taught at Vanderbilt University, where she earned her doctorate in molecular biology. Her dissertation was titled "Estrogen Receptor Expression in Human Breast Cancer."
Academic Focus
Dr. Yaich currently teaches Introduction to Cell & Molecular Biology, Genetics, Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, and Topics - Cancer Biology, as well as supervising an active undergraduate research program.
Research, Accomplishments, and Publications
Dr. Yaich has a number of awards, including a National Science Foundation Developmental Neurobiology Fellowship, and a grant from the National Institutes of Health. She is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Yaich has also received the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award.
