Short Bio
Cassandra is a proud alumna of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where she earned her B.S. in Exercise Science, and of East Stroudsburg University, where she completed her M.S. in Clinical Exercise Physiology. After graduating from graduate school, she worked with patients at UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford in both inpatient and outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation settings. These clinical experiences now inform her teaching, helping students connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
Since joining the faculty in 2020, her goal has been to create a practical, engaging, and supportive learning environment that enables students to explore careers in exercise science and healthcare. She strives to create a classroom where questions are encouraged, challenges are viewed as opportunities for growth, and everyone feels valued. She hopes students leave not only with a solid foundation in exercise science but also with confidence, excitement, and inspiration for their future careers.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, Joey, stay busy and love keeping up with their daughter, Brooklynn, whose energy and joy brighten their lives, along with their dog, who ensures they get plenty of walks. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places, whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a bigger trip—these moments keep her grounded and inspired, both personally and professionally.
