Michele Cruse has spent the last 9 years in Higher Education. She served as an Accounts Receivable Manager, District Student Accounts & Cashiering Services Manager, TRIO SSS Program Director and most recently, Dean of Student Development at the Cascade campus of Portland Community College (PCC). Prior to her career in higher education, she worked in the financial and public sectors. Throughout her professional career, she developed and sharpened her skills in accounting, budgeting, investing, finance, grant writing, strategic planning, business development, staff training and teaching. With use of her combination of skills, Michele is credited with several entrepreneurial ventures, co-founding and directing a local non-profit organization as well as owning and operating a restaurant that featured Cuban cuisine. Michele also was an adjunct faculty at PCC and at Marylhurst University.
Michele has a Bachelor's of Arts and Masters of Arts degree in Public Administration, from the University of Pittsburgh and Portland State University. She also holds an PhD in Adult in Higher Education from Oregon State University.
