Short Bio
Having worked in the food service industry for more than 20 years, Joel is very passionate about food. Starting at a young age, Joel worked in a family-owned business, went on to own and operate his own food service businesses, then moved on to work for Panera Bread. A growing family precipitated a move to a career in higher education food service. Joel has been at Pitt-Bradford since 2016 and oversees dining services at Pitt-Bradford and Pitt-Titusville. An avid foodie, Joel has many favorite types of foods (it’s too hard to limit it to one) and a penchant toward savory foods, but he absolutely detests tuna noodle casserole!
Due to Joel’s dedication and concern for those less fortunate, he has a great concern for those who suffer from food insecurity. To that end, he is the chairman of the board of directors of The Friendship Table in Bradford. In addition to this, Joel serves on the board of directors of Evergreen Elm, Inc.
In his spare time, Joel, of course, loves to cook and spend time outdoors hiking, kayaking and snowshoeing in the beautiful Allegheny National Forest and New York state’s Allegany State Park. Joel resides in Bradford, PA and is married to the love of his life, Megan, with whom he shares three daughters.
