If you have served our country in the Active Duty Military, the Reserves or the National Guard you may be eligible for education benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill. Under certain circumstances, spouses and children of veterans may also be eligible for education benefits.

If you have at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or were discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days, you may be eligilbe for the new Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI educational bill, which for qualifying veterans will cover the cost of tuition and fees while receiving housing and book allowance.

Pitt-Bradford is also participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program through which eligible veterans, both in-state and out of state, will have all tuition and fees paid.

One of our veterans representatives is available to help you file all documentation related to the Montgomery GI Bill. You can contact  James Baldwin, registrar and assistant dean of academic affairs at jlb20@pitt.edu or  Bob Dilks Jr., director of transfer and nontraditional student recruitment at dilks@pitt.edu or call 814-362-7693.

Please note that the Veterans Administration may require extra time to process new applications for education benefits. It is very important to begin the application process well in advance of the term in which you are planning to enroll.

Now let's get started.

  1.  Apply for admission to Pitt-Bradford
  2. New students apply to receive your VA education benefits
  3. Transfer or returning students apply to receive your VA education benefits
  4. Have your military experience reviewed  by Pitt-Bradford for possible credit
  5. Verify your enrollment and attendance  for monthly payments.
