VITA tax prep

Description:

For the 23rd consecutive year, accounting students at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will offer free income tax preparation for low- to moderate-income individuals and families.

            Residents can receive assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, also known as VITA, from noon to 5 p.m. in Room 158 of the Pitt-Bradford Sport and Fitness Center. 

            Each session will be limited to the first 40 taxpayers who sign up that day. 

            Accounting students who have been certified by the IRS will prepare 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ and Pennsylvania state returns for individuals.

            Families and individuals interested in participating in the program are asked to bring  proof of identity and Social Security cards for themselves and any dependents, hard copies of 2012 W-2 and 1099 forms, and proof of account (such as a voided check) for direct deposit of refunds if desired.

 Choosing ways to “Go Beyond” each day is a tradition at Pitt-Bradford. The photography exhibit was created to enable those who have traveled anywhere in the world (including the USA) to display their favorite photographs. It is open to students, faculty and staff, and members of the community (those within 30 miles of Bradford, PA).

'Italian American Reconciliation' on stage this weekend 
Pitt-Bradford’s Division of Communication and the Arts will present “Italian American Reconciliation” this weekend, a romantic comedy by the writer of “Moonstruck.”

Hospitality students sponsor drive for hygiene products 
Pitt-Bradford’s hospitality management program is holding a drive to collect hygiene products that help prevent the spread of bacteria and disease. 
Newbery-winning author Avi to speak this month 
Avi, the Newbery Award-winning author of more than 70 books for children and young adults, will visit Pitt-Bradford March 19. 
Psychologist to give talk on inmate rehabilitation through animal programs 
 Dr. Clarissa Uttley, a member of the faculty at the Plymouth State University whose areas of expertise include early childhood, psychology and pet therapy, will speak this month about prison-based animal programs. 
Women's History Month to feature writers, Motown and more
