Position Title: Assistant Director of Residence Life
Qualifications and Requirements:
The position of Assistant Director of Residence Life requires strong interpersonal and administrative skills, as well as sensitivity to student and campus life issues. Individuals with program management experience related to multiculturalism, gender issues and/or discrimination are of particular interest. A master’s degree in higher education/student affairs or related field is also required, along with an ability to effectively translate student development theory into practice to maximize student success.
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford seeks a full-time, 12-month, live-in Assistant Director of Residence Life to assist the Associate Dean of Students and two other residence life staff members in the management of a 1,040-bed student residence hall system. The assistant director reports to Dr. Ronald Binder, Associate Dean of Students. Compensation includes furnished single-occupancy apartment, full meal plan for fall and spring terms, competitive salary, moving expenses, generous benefits package, reserved parking and generous professional development funds.
Assist the Associate Dean of Students and two other residence life staff members (Housing Director, and Co-Assistant Director of Residence Life) in the management of a 1,040-bed student residence hall system, including supervision of 32 Resident Assistants (along with the other Assistant Director of Residence Life); residence hall administrative duties; and community development, social, educational, campus-wide and late night programming. Provide on-call coverage on rotating evenings and weekends by assisting and supporting Resident Advisor Staff, Campus Police, and Facilities Staff with student and facility incidents. Support the Student Affairs Division by assisting in campus-wide programs and events, with additional opportunities to gain experience in other Student Affairs Division functional areas, depending on the interest of the final candidate
