Position Title: Academic Advisor
Full-Time - 9 Months
Qualifications and Requirements:
Master’s degree in higher education, counselor education, education or related field required; knowledge of academic counseling and adult learning is essential. Individuals with program management experience related to multiculturalism and/or issues related to campus diversity are of particular interest. Familiarity with academic advising and counseling practices, career planning, course instruction, group and workshop facilitation, the ADA and Section 504 preferred. Must be computer literate and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. A minimum of one year experience successfully providing student support services in a post-secondary setting required.
This position is full-time, 9–month and subject to ongoing U.S. Department of Education funding.
Responsible for delivering direct academic support services, in individual, group and classroom settings, to a diverse student population who are low income, first generation, and/or disabled students.
