Can you get a living wage for a day’s work? A group of cab drivers meets in a
dark and smoky room to ask. Their bosses have an answer. Their so-called union
leaders seem to have the same answer as the bosses. Something just ain’t right
about this. Something’s not right about everything. What are we gonna do?
Clifford Odette’s classic piece of American agitprop was born out of the Great
Depression, but its ability to speak truth to money and power remains part of
its gritty charm even now. This is the piece that made a young Arthur Miller
want to write plays that could shake people up. To attend these productions
