Institutional Advancement sponsors 'Paws and Give Thanks'

The Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations in conjunction with the Student Alumni Association will host “Paws and Give Thanks” Feb. 27 as part of the second annual Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day.

The purpose of the day is to create awareness for Pitt-Bradford students about the generosity of our benefactors. Together, staff and student volunteers will be located in Hanley Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and in the KOA Dining Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 to 6 p.m. to distribute refreshments to the campus community and encourage students to sign thank you cards for alumni donors and friends. The postcards will be mailed to donors at a later date. As a special touch, select campus community donors will receive hand-delivered thank you notes from students on that day. Online, the campus community can show their gratitude using social media with the hashtag #UPBTHANKS.

“Philanthropy plays a vital role in higher education; so many of our students recognize how it impacts their daily lives,” said Kathleen Neeson, assistant director of annual giving programs. “This is their chance to say thank you in their own words, in their own way, and they are also educating their classmates about these important contributions. Peer-to-peer engagement is beyond measure for spreading the word about the importance of philanthropy.”
