Seventeen graduate from Pitt MSW program at Pitt-Bradford

Seventeen residents of the region graduated last month from the Master of Social Work program.

During the graduation reception, Dr. Livingston Alexander, president, greeted the graduates and their guests, recognizing the continuing social challenges for the region and praising the students’ commitment to attaining a post-baccalaureate degree.

Also speaking were Larry Davis, dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh; Stephanie Eckstrom, Pitt-Bradford MSW program coordinator; and student speakers chosen by their classmates, Steven Joyce of Port Allegany and Nicole Drozdiel of Warren.

The speakers chose to give their speech together to exemplify how their group had come together since beginning their degrees in 2010.

In addition to Joyce and Drozdiel, those graduating were Lindsey Anderson of Jamestown, N.Y.; Michael Baxter, Daryl Johnson, and Dianna Wadlow, all of Allegany, N.Y.; Scott Connor of Dunkirk, N.Y.; Brandy Deckman, Sheri Lothridge, Jenelle Page and Karen Prymak, all of Olean, N.Y.; Kara Hart, Stephanie Henris and Jessica Lonzi, all of Bradford; Treena Holmes-Hulings of Warren; Jennifer Safford of Port Allegany; and Kimberly Warner of Portville, N.Y.
