The American Red Cross is asking Pitt-Bradford students to give something
that means something this holiday season by making an appointment to donate
blood. A blood drive will be held on campus on Tuesday, Dec. 10,
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Commons.
The Red Cross is asking eligible blood donors of all blood types to donate
blood during the winter months to strengthen the community’s blood supply.Give something
that means something this holiday season by donating blood. When you donate
blood you are giving a gift that can help save a life. The holiday season is
the perfect time to show your support and give back to the community.
Local blood donors are
needed all year round to ensure the blood supply stays strong. Approximately
every two seconds a patient in the United States needs blood. Blood donation can
help save the life of a real person in thecommunity. Blood is an essential component
for patient care in area hospitals, and the only source of blood is a healthy,
volunteer blood donor. All presenting donors at this blood drive will receive a
free sling bag.* Walk-ins are always welcome, but donors are encouraged to make
an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or
visiting redcrossblood.org to make appointments.
