2012: Quickly established himself as one of the top young pitchers in the AMCC after going 6-3 with 3.42 ERA in 55.1 innings pitched as a freshman … tied for the team lead with nine starts … ranked fifth in the AMCC with 54 strikeouts … in conference play, he was 4-1 with a 1.57 ERA in 28.2 innings pitched … allowed just five earned runs in conference play, held opponents to a .236 batting average and had 24 strikeouts to seven walks … allowed three runs, one earned, on five hits against AMCC champion La Roche (March 25) … tossed a complete-game four hitter against Hilbert while giving up two runs, both of which were unearned (April 12) … carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning against Penn State Altoona in the series-clinching game of the AMCC first round (May 5) … in that start, he allowed one run, unearned, on two hits while striking out seven to earn the win … against Mount Aloysius in the AMCC tournament, he surrendered two unearned runs in seven innings of work while fanning a season-high 10 batters (May 10).
