Bowling completes Kutztown Invitational

The Pitt-Bradford bowling team completed its three-day competition at the Kutztown Invitational with a win and two losses on Sunday, Jan. 26.

Pitt-Bradford began the competition on Friday, Jan. 24, with a Baker style format. The Panthers competed in six games, dropping each match. In the fourth game of the format, Pitt-Bradford competed against Southeastern Conference member Vanderbilt University. The Panthers played the Commodores close in the beginning, before falling 819-494.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, the Panthers competed in the Team format of the invitational. During the team format, each member of the squad bowled one game. The total number of pins that fell equaled the final score.

Sarah Foley finished her afternoon with an average of 191. Meaghann CampBell was closed behind, finishing with an average of 168. The Panthers got their lone win of the day in the final match against CSU. Pitt-Bradford had a total pinfall of 783, edging the competition by just four pins to claim the victory.

The Panthers finished the competition on Sunday, Jan. 26, with a victory over SIU and fell to PSU twice. Sunday’s matches were in the Baker style format. Pitt-Bradford collected its only victory over SIU in the second of three matches.

Pitt-Bradford returns to the lanes on Friday, Jan. 31, as the Panthers compete in the Red Flash Invitational hosted by Saint Francis University. The three-day meet begins at 10 a.m.
