The Pitt-Bradford bowling team finished its first day of the
Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s quad-meet held at Medaille by going
1-2 in the dual match portion of the contest.
The Panthers defeated Mount Aloysius 669-543. Pitt-Bradford
fell to Penn State Altoona 730-621, and to meet-host Medaille 769-633. Each
match is scored in total pinfall to accumulate a final score.
Pitt-Bradford (16-13, 5-4) had several newcomers competing
for the first time this season in the lanes today. Megan Povone bowled a 142
and a 121 in her two games, respectively.
Jamie VanAlstine bowled a 119 and a 98 in her two games.
Breannemarie Davis bowled a 101 and a 108 during her portion of the meet.
Sarah Foley scored a team-high when she hit 180 in the third
game of the match against Medaille. For the day, Foley scored a 522, also good
for first on the squad.
Meghann Campbell finished with a 142, 121 and a 150. Avril
Gedman tallied a 96, 106 and 97 in the three games she competed in.
The Panthers return to the lanes on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 9
a.m. for the Baker Format portion of the weekend meet. Each team will bowl six
games for a total pinfall to declare a winner.
