The Pitt-Bradford men’s and women’s basketball teams will be
taking part in “Play 4 Gray” on Saturday, Dec. 7, when they travel to
Greensburg, Pa., to take on Pitt-Greensburg. The event is geared toward raising
funds for Coach Brian Donoghue, a fellow college basketball coach, who is
currently battling brain cancer.
Coach Donoghue is the head women’s basketball coach at King’s
College and was diagnosed with brain cancer this past summer. “Play 4 Gray” was
started by King’s College and the University of Scranton earlier this season.
The color gray was chosen because it is often the color used
to represent brain cancer.
Any fans traveling to Greensburg for the games are
encouraged to purchase t-shirts that the Bobcats will be selling. The price is
$10 and all proceeds from the day’s events, including ticket sales, t-shirt
sales and the 50/50 raffle being held, will go directly to the Donoghue family.
