The Pitt-Bradford men’s soccer team failed to place the ball into the net as the Panthers dropped their final contest of the 2013 season 1-0 to Medaille on Tuesday afternoon.

Pitt-Bradford (4-13, 1-8) maintained a strong back line defensively allowing just one goal despite 31 shots at the net. Goalkeeper Adam Forster tallied 13 saves during the matchup, including three that appeared to be a goal before a diving Forster refused to let the ball cross the line.

The Panthers moved the ball beyond the midfield line on numerous occasions but were unable to create any serious attacks at the Mavericks’ net.

Medaille (12-7-1, 9-0) brought a fierce attack throughout the entire game. The Mavericks kept possession of the ball on the Panthers’ end of the field for all but a few minutes of the action.

Mavericks’ goalkeeper Tyler Brew needed just two saves on three shots to secure the shutout for the visiting team.

After 41 minutes of play, Medaille’s Mike Raftu trapped a rebound off of a diving Forster and drove the ball into the net for the lone goal of the contest.

With the closing of the 2013 campaign, the Panthers will say goodbye to several seniors on the roster before beginning preparations for next season’s opening match.
