Pitt-Bradford freshman Elizabeth Prager was named the
Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference women’s player of the week for
swimming, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Prager dashed out to a large lead in the 1000 freestyle on
Saturday at the dual meet with Cabrini College hosted at the Paul C. Duke Aquatics
Center. Prager went on to finish the race in a time of 11:33.71 that shattered
the previous school record of 11:38.54 by nearly five seconds.
Along with her record-setting performance in the 1000 free,
Prager also posted a first place finish in the 100 backstroke. She finished
with a final time of 1:05.39, taking the first place spot by nearly two seconds
ahead of Cabrini’s Courtney Good.
The Panthers are back in action at the pool this weekend as
they host conference-foe Penn State Altoona at 1 p.m.
