Buffalo, N.Y. - The Pitt-Bradford volleyball team suffered a
3-0 defeat on the road Saturday afternoon at Buffalo State.
Pitt-Bradford (8-15, 3-2) fell in game one 25-15. The
Panthers started slow offensively but were able to put points on the board and
work their way back into the set.
The Panthers went toe-to-toe with Buffalo State throughout
the second set before being defeated 25-23 in a close battle. The offensive
rhythm found in game one carried over into the second game and almost gave the
Panthers the victory.
In game three, Buffalo State started fast and the Panthers
had a hard time making up ground. The Bengals defeated Pitt-Bradford 25-20 to
close out the match.
Taylor McMillen led the Panthers with 10 kills, one assist
and three digs. Kelsey Repke tallied 20 digs during the match and Kimberly
Daughtery finished with seven kills, one assist and six digs.
“I thought we played pretty well and did some good things
against a good team,” said head coach Tina Phillips. “We still have to do a
better job of finishing out games. We got a lot of effort from the team today
and I was proud of them for that.”
The Panthers hit the
road on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when they travel to face conference-foe Penn State
Behrend at 7 p.m. in Erie, Pa.
