Panthers hold on to finish second at AMCC Championships

The Pitt-Bradford men’s golf carded a team score of 317 in the second round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships to finish in second place on Monday afternoon.

Pitt-Bradford finished with a combined team total of 627 for the two rounds of the tournament. Andrew Bird finished with a team-low 154 (78-76) after shooting a 76 on the second day of competition. Zach Spicer (78-82) and Zach Tarbell (84-76) each carded a final score of 160 to finish their rounds.

Alex Hunter (78-83) totaled a 161 and Christian Holzwarth (76-88) finished the conference tournament with a 174.

Penn State Behrend finished with a team score of 602 to seal the victory. Pitt-Greensburg (644), Mount Aloysius (653) and Penn State Altoona (657) rounded out the top five of this year's tournament.

The completion of the AMCC Championships also completes the fall slate for the men’s golf team.

Seniors Christian Holzwarth, Zach Tarbell and Ryan Marshall end their careers for the blue and gold. As for the rest of the Panthers’ roster, their focus now moves to preparing for the 2014 campaign.
