The Pitt-Bradford women’s tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat
to Alfred University on Thursday evening at the William T. Brown Tennis Courts
in Alfred, N.Y.
Pitt-Bradford (2-6, 1-5) saw its best doubles team,
Stephanie Krall and Emily Fowkes, defeated 8-2.
Shaina Reddinger and Constance Cui also fell 8-2. The last doubles team,
Sara James and Amy Thomas, lost 8-1.
Singles play began with Fowkes taking a 6-3, 6-1 defeat and Krall
falling 6-0, 6-1. Reddinger and Cui each fell to the Saxons 6-1, 6-3. James
nearly won the first set before being defeated 7-6 (3), 6-1. Rounding out the
Panthers this evening was Thomas, who fell 6-1, 7-6 (5).
Pitt-Bradford is back in action tomorrow night, Sept. 27,
when they host Medaille at the Kessel Athletic Complex at 6 p.m.
