The Pitt-Bradford women's soccer team blitzed Alfred 7-0 Wednesday night, snapping its two-game losing streak in the process.
The Panthers led 3-0 at the break behind a pair of goals by Maggie Boehler. Melissa Smith had the other tally, scoring just minutes after Boehler's second marker.
Tess Follman and Krista Burdett each scored in the second half. It was the first of the year for Follman and the first of Burdett's career. Boehler found the back of the net in the 83rd minute to complete the hat trick, the second time she has done so in her career, and Smith struck for her second goal less than a minute later.
Defensively, Pitt-Bradford limited the Saxons to just two shot attempts. Danielle Erdley earned the win while recording a single save, and Brooke Redfern, who played a majority of the second half, preserved the shutout. Ashley Parks finished with an assist.
Pitt-Bradford improves to 4-2 on the season and will host No. 6 William Smith Sunday at 3 p.m.
