Pitt-Bradford men's soccer players Alessandro Ortiz and Adam Forster were named the AMCC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, Monday.
Ortiz played a big role in helping the Panthers to a 2-1 record last week. The freshman's overtime goal lifted the men to a 1-0 victory over Alfred, and he followed that up with another score against Saint Vincent on Friday. At the time, the Panthers trailed 3-0, but Ortiz's tally was the first of five second half goals as the Blue and Gold rallied for a 5-3 win. The Easton, Pa., native leads the Panthers with three markers and is tied for the team lead with six points.
Forster tossed a shutout against Alfred, stopping 12 shots in 105 minutes of action. It was the senior's 13th career shutout and first of the season. Despite falling behind to Saint Vincent, he made several key saves in the second half, allowing the Panthers to rally for the win.
A native of Marietta, Pa., Forster received the conference's weekly award for the fifth time in his career.
