The Pitt-Bradford women's tennis team defeated Houghton Friday 7-2 and dropped an AMCC match to Penn State Altoona Saturday by a score of 9-0.
Against Houghton, the Panthers swept all three doubles matches. The top team of Stephanie Krall and Emily Fowkes won 8-3, and both teams of Shaina Reddinger and Constance Cui and Jamie VanAlstine and Amy Thomas triumphed 8-4.
In singles action, the two teams played a pro set. Krall won her match 10-0, Fowkes was victorious 10-2 and both VanAlstine and Thomas prevailed by scores of 10-3.
Altoona handed the Panthers their second straight loss to open AMCC play Saturday afternoon.
Krall and Fowkes lost in doubles 8-1, Reddinger and Cui fell 8-3 and Sara James and Thomas were defeated 8-4.
In singles play, Reddinger was the only Panther not to be swept in straight sets. She lost 6-7, 6-2, 10-8.
Pitt-Bradford stands at 1-2 on the season and travels to Mt. Aloysius Sunday.
