Pitt-Bradford opens play at the AMCC tournament Friday against Penn State Behrend.
The Panthers enter the tourney as the three seed after going 13-5 against conference opponents during the regular season. Behrend is the sixth seed, edging out Medaille for the final spot on tiebreakers.
The Blue and Gold have scuffled of late, dropping four straight to Penn State Altoona and Alfred. The recent swoon comes on the heels of 7-1 stretch that propelled the Panthers to the top of the AMCC standings for a brief stay.
Pitt-Bradford swept Behrend in the regular season matchup, rallying in both games to win by identical scores of 6-4.
It's the 13 all-time meeting between the two schools in the conference tourney and the first since 2011. Sixth-seeded Behrend upended the third-seeded Panthers 5-2 in that game.
The two teams are split down the middle with six wins apiece against each other in tourney play.
The winner will meet D’Youville later that day while the loser will play Saturday in an elimination game.
