Pitt-Bradford junior softball player Sydney Mosby became the program's all-time career strikeout leader on Saturday.
Mosby entered the Panthers' matchup against Penn State Altoona with 313 career strikeouts, two shy of Heather Nelson's record of 315. Nelson pitched for Pitt-Bradford from 2000-03.
Mosby struck out a batter in both the first and second innings of game one to tie Nelson's mark, and her punchout of Clarissa Keller to start the fourth broke the record. She added another strikeout in the fifth to finish with four on the day.
The Sagamore Hills, Ohio, native is 11-4 this season with a 1.50 ERA in 16 appearances. In 93.1 innings pitched, she has 93 strikeouts, second-most in the AMCC.
Mosby and her teammates will face Brockport State and Alfred this week before playing in the AMCC tournament starting Friday. The Panthers are the No. 3 seed and open against Penn State Behrend.
