The Pitt-Bradford softball team swept La Roche Sunday to remain atop the AMCC standings with a conference-leading 13 wins.

The Panthers cruised to a 7-2 victory in game one and held on to win 4-3 in the nightcap to finish off a perfect 6-0 week against league opponents.

Bri Stenta's RBI single in the fifth broke up a scoreless game, and Jamie Winzeler lined a base hit up the middle in the next at bat to extend the lead to 3-0.

In the sixth, Pitt-Bradford tacked on four more runs, capitalizing on two La Roche errors. Meagan Lewis had a run-scoring triple in the frame, and Winzeler added a RBI base hit.

It was more than enough run support for Sydney Mosby, who carried a one-hitter into the seventh. She allowed two runs on four hits while walking one and striking out seven.

Pitt-Bradford went ahead early in game two on Chelsea Thompson's RBI knock to right field. It came with two outs in the second inning. After falling behind 2-1 in the top half of the third, the Panthers evened the score with Lewis' RBI bloop single to right field.

They went ahead for good in the fifth behind Lauren Hogue's RBI groundout, and Olivia Taylor's RBI double moments later accounted for the eventual game-winning run. La Roche trimmed the deficit to 4-3 in the sixth, but Mosby came in to pitch a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh for her first save of the season.

It capped a big week for the junior pitcher, who went 4-0 with a save in five appearances. In 21.1 innings pitched, she surrendered just three earned runs while racking up 25 strikeouts.

Jenifer Anthony got the win after throwing three innings of one-run ball in relief. Emily Fair pitched the first three frames, yielded two runs and suffered a no-decision.

Pitt-Bradford totaled nine hits as Lewis and Hogue finished with two apiece.

The Panthers improve to 18-10 overall and will have the week off for finals. They return to action on Friday against Houghton. It will be their final home games of the regular season.
