Pitt-Bradford sophomore softball player Jenifer Anthony was named the AMCC Pitcher of the Week Monday.
Anthony played a big role in helping the Panthers jump out to a 5-1 start in conference play last week. She went 2-0 and nailed down first career save in three appearances.
Against Behrend, she surrendered two runs in six innings of relief work, allowing the Panthers to storm back for its first sweep of the Lions since 2010. It was Anthony's first career win. She pitched the final two innings in the team's 7-4 win against Franciscan, stranding a pair of base runners in the final frame to earn the save.
On Sunday, the Irwin, Pa., native went the distance in the team's comeback 5-4 win over Mount Aloysius. With the victory, she had notched wins against the AMCC's two preseason favorites in just a span of four days.
