Pitt-Bradford sophomore baseball player Bobby Sorokas was named the AMCC Pitcher of the Week Monday.
In his first career start, Sorokas tossed seven innings on one-run ball against Nichols to lift the Panthers to an 11-1 win last Monday in Fort Myers, Fla. He surrendered just three hits, walked three and struck out six. Sorokas retired 14 of 15 batters at one point before yielding a run in his final inning of work. His performance helped Pitt-Bradford finish 4-1 in team's final five games in Florida.
The Plains, Pa., native is hitting .370 at the plate and ranks third on the team with seven RBIs. He received the conference's weekly honor for the first time in his career.
