Penn State Behrend swept the Pitt-Bradford swimming teams in a dual meet Saturday. The men lost 151-119 and the women were bounced 130-98.
On the men's side, the Panthers were led by Matt Patterson, who won the 100 free and 400 individual medley. Other winners included Jeff Cattoni in the 100 breast, Matt Anderson in the 200 back and David Taylor in the 100 fly.
The 400 free relay of Cattoni, Connor Hoeflich, Josh Anderson and Alex Schrock also won.
Runner-up finishes included Patterson in the 200 free, Matt Anderson in the 100 back and 400 individual medley, Alex Renwick in the 100 fly, Taylor in the 200 fly, and Schrock in the 500 free.
Tyler Hegburg placed third in the 400 individual medley, Hoeflich was third in the 100 fly and the 200 back, Renwick placed third in the 200 fly, Matt Cox took third in the 500 free and Cattoni was third in the 200 breast.
On the women's side, the Panthers were paced by Melinda Mackenzie, who won both the 500 and 1,000 free, and Rachel Confer, who took first in the 100 free.
Mackenzie was also finished runner-up in the 100 free and Confer was second in the 200 free. Wehonna Toth took second in the 100 back and third in the 200 back, and Sam Smith was runner-up in the 100 fly and third in the 200 fly. Katharine O'Neil placed third in both the 100 and 200 breast.
The 400 free relay of Smith, Devon Welch, Toth and Mackenzie was victorious, and the 400 medley relay of Toth, Confer, Smith and Welch finished second.
Pitt-Bradford wraps up the regular season next Saturday at home against Notre Dame College.
