Pitt-Bradford sophomore men's basketball player Keith Burgess was named the AMCC Player of the Week Monday.
In three games last week, Burgess averaged 19 points and five assists while posting a pair of 20-point efforts. Against Medaille, he shot 8-13 from the floor and made all four his free throw attempts to finish with a team-high 22 points.
He tied his career high with seven assists against Penn State Behrend, and helped the Panthers rally from a 22-point deficit to shock Penn State Altoona on Saturday in overtime with a career-high 27 points. Burgess hit 7-14 shots from the field, including hitting a career best three three-pointers, and went a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line in the comeback win. On the week, he failed to miss a free throw in 15 attempts, improving his season average by 10 percentage points to 83 percent.
On the season, the Hillside, N.J., native leads the team in scoring with 15 points a game and ranks in the top five in the AMCC in scoring.
