The Pitt-Bradford swimming teams competed in a tri-meet against Wells and Mansfield on Saturday. The men defeated Wells in convincing fashion while the women were swept.
The men dominated Wells by a score of 62-32, winning a total of seven events. First-place finishers for the Panthers were Alex Schrock in the 1,000 free, Josh Anderson in the 200 free, Matt Patterson in the 200 individual medley, Alex Renwick in the 500 free, Matt Anderson in the 100 free, and Jeff Cattoni in the 100 breast.
The 200 medley relay team of Tyler Hegburg, Josh Robertson, Matt Cox and Richie Brand won in a time of 57.62.
In other results, Cox was second in the 200 free, Schrock finished runner-up in the 100 free, Matt Anderson took second in the 1,000 free and Hegburg placed second in both the 100 back and fly.
Patterson and Matt Anderson were second and third, respectively, in the 100 breast, and Cattoni and Connor Hoeflich followed Patterson in the 200 IM. Cox placed third in the 100 fly and Brand was third in the 50 free.
On the women's side, the Panthers were defeated by Wells 69-26 and Mansfield 78-16.
The top performers for Pitt-Bradford was Sam Smith finishing third in the 100 back, Katharine O'Neil taking third in the 100 breast and Wehonna Toth placing third in the 100 back.
Rachel Confer took fourth in the 1,000 free, Devon Welch was fourth in the 100 free and fifth in the 50 free, and Jamie Hannold finished fifth in the 200 free.
The 200 free relay team of Toth, Smith, Hannold and Confer finished second, and the 200 medley relay squad took third.
The men improve to 4-3 on the season and the women fall to 2-6. Pitt-Bradford travels to Penn State Behrend next Saturday.
