When you are estimating your expenses, be aware that all University of Pittsburgh students participating in a study-abroad program, regardless of its length, are subject to an administrative fee of $350. The administrative fee will be billed directly through billpay once you register for a study abroad program.
You must have a valid U.S. passport. A new one now costs $100. Access an application form at http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/forms_847.html
See the Bradford post office, or your local one, about submitting the application.
There will be a mandatory health and safety meeting that all students need to attend before leaving on their trip. These are held at the end of each semester. The “Study Abroad Pre-Departure Guide” (available on the Study Abroad link above) is the basis for discussion.

You must provide proof of 4 types of insurance: major medical insurance, emergency room insurance, medical evacuation, and repartriation. Here is a form to apply for Student Insurance: HTH-Student-Enrollment-Form.pdf
