We hope this information helps you. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us in the Financial Aid Office at 814-362-7550. We're here to help.
Step 1. Apply for admission.
You cannot be awarded financial aid until you are admitted, so we suggest that you apply for admission early.
Step 2. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form called the FAFSA.
You can either fill out a paper copy or complete the FAFSA online.
A paper copy is available at http://www.federalstudentaid.ed.gov/fafsa/fafsa_options.html.(We no longer have paper forms in our office.) Please keep in mind that a paper FAFSA can take longer to process.
Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
You will need a PIN issued by the Department of Education. You can get one or a duplicate at www.pin.ed.gov. You will use this to electronically sign your FAFSA.
If you are a dependent student for finanacial aid purposes, your parent also will need a PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA.
Pitt-Bradford's federal school code is 008815. The priority filing deadline is March 1 for all students.
Once you complete the FAFSA:
- Your information will automatically be sent to the American Education Services/Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency if you're a PA resident. AES/PHEAA then will consider you for a state grant.
- If you live in another state, you should check whether your state provides grant assistance.
- You will also be considered for a federal Stafford Loan. If you are eligible, you will receive an award letter.
