Petroleum Technology Program
Pitt-Bradford restored and revised the
Petroleum Technology Associate of Science Degree
Program in January 2007.
Baccalaureate Program in Energy Technology
Funds are being sought to begin developing a new program in Energy Technology. A first elective course on Renewable Energy is being taught during Spring 2007-2008.
Energy Research
Faculty/undergraduate student research is on-going in the areas of biolubricants, radiation scattering analysis, and the effect of forest floor disruption on flora in the Allegheny National Forest.
Biodiesel Production Laboratory
A 13-gallon batch biodiesel production unit is being installed to give undergraduate students experience in producing biofuels from waste cooking oil from the campus dining hall. A small furnace is being donated to use for testing the biofuel produced.
Collaboration with Local Industry
. American Resources Group and Losonoco have begun discussions with Pitt-Bradford on collaboration on energy projects.
Workforce Training
Pitt-Bradford’s
Outreach Services
offers a variety of training programs specific to the workforce needs of the oil and gas industry, including Petroleum Land Agent training and Oil and Gas Well Drilling Safety and Record Keeping. For more information, contact
