College in the High School
Loading...

In this dual-enrollment program, Pitt-Bradford partners with high school faculty to offer colleges courses in the high school during the normal school day. The purpose of College in the High School is to strengthen ties with local and surrounding schools by offering high school students an opportunity to earn college credit, create a stronger relationship between Pitt-Bradford faculty and high school teachers, and to familiarize high school students with the university environment.

In addition to earning college credits, students also receive a Pitt ID card, which enables them to use the university’s library system. They are also eligible to receive a computer access account at the university.

The College in the High School courses are taught by certified high school faculty who have a master’s degree or the master’s equivalency and have been certified as adjunct faculty members by the appropriate university departments. Grades for the course are given by the teacher and are based on the student’s performance on graded assignments, quizzes, and tests assigned by the high school teacher and a final exam that is provided by the appropriate department at the university.
