Financing Your Education

A Smart Educational Investment

To help you begin the financial aid process, we've created an informational slide show. You can also refer to the 2011-2012 Official Guide to Financial Aid. We hope you'll find it helpful.

"The University of Pittsburgh is a very well-known and respected school that I am very proud to have a degree from. I feel that my education here will allow me great opportunities for graduate school and for future employment." -- Lisa Moeke of Bradford, a 2009 graduate with a degree in environmental studies.

As Lisa said, the value of a Pitt-Bradford education -- and a degree from the University of Pittsburgh -- goes far beyond dollars and cents. It influences your career, your dreams and your future. After all, a degree from the University of Pittsburgh is recognized all over the world.

That’s why we do our best to keep Pitt-Bradford affordable. We keep our tuition and housing fees competitive to other area institutions. And we offer a wide variety of merit- and need-based scholarships to qualified students.

The best part? It’s working. In fact, more than 92 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid through grants, loans, work study, or scholarships.

For the 2010-11 school year, the average award for in-state students was roughly $16,490; for out-of-state students, about $19,250. That means that most students paid much less than you might expect for a quality education and a degree from a world-renowned institution.

Net Price Calculator – This site is intended only for undergraduate, first-year and full-time, domestic students.
Pitt-Bradford, in accordance with federal law, provides access to a net price calculator. Please keep in mind that the estimate provided using this calculator does not represent a final determination, or actual award, of financial assistance, or a final net price. It is an estimate based on price of attendance and financial aid provided to students in a previous year. Price of attendance and financial aid availability change year to year. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be eligible for, and receive, an actual financial aid award that includes federal grant, loan or work-study assistance. In addition to the Net Price Calculator, we strongly recommend that you also check out the many different Merit (Panther) Scholarships.
