Kristin Asinger is the Director of Freshman Seminar, Study Abroad, International Studies and International Services. Creating a professional plan for personal and academic development is crucial for today’s students who are entering college. The Freshman Seminar program provides students with the tools they need to navigate the many aspects of college life, to learn on a deeper level and to plan to purposely engage in experiences that will help them develop skills that employers are seeking.

Only 2% of students in the USA study abroad. Employers view those who have studied abroad as someone who has a global perspective, works well with others, is independent, creative and is willing to take chances. "Studying abroad is a gift that you give yourself. Your experience abroad will become a part of who you are and will stay with you for your entire lifetime through choices that you make, how you see the world and how you live your life. Anyone can study abroad, just stop in and see me to learn about all of opportunities that are available."

With over 80 countries to choose from, the University of Pittsburgh offers study abroad programs for all majors. The Study Abroad Office in Swarts 102 will help you to find a program right for you whether is it full year, in the fall, spring, summer or during spring break.

Pitt-Bradford has over 50 international students on campus each semester. The Office of International Services provides immigration advising and orientation to all of our international students. Minoring in International Studies requires a minimum of 18 credits included in a study abroad experience, global courses, our World Geography course and a world language at the intermediate level. See Kristin if you are interested in this minor.
