Short Bio:

After spending sixteen years teaching Earth Science to high school students, Bernie joined the Pitt-Bradford staff in January 2008.  Technology has always been of interest to him and he incorporated it into his own classroom whenever possible.  He hopes to inspire the Pitt-Bradford faculty to see the value of teaching with technology in the 21st century.

In his spare time, he spends as much time as possible with his two young boys in activities that usually revolve around the outdoors such as camping, hiking, and fly fishing.  He is also an instructor with Kinzua Fly Fishing School, which operates from the Pitt-Bradford campus in May of each year.

Research, Accomplishments, and Publications:
In 2005 Bernie received the Eastern Section "Outstanding Earth Science Teacher of the Year" award from the National Association of Geoscience Teachers.  Prior to this award, in 2003 he received the NAGT "Pennsylvania Outstanding Earth Science Teacher of the Year" award.
