Dear Reader,
The dedicated, talented and hardworking staff and I welcome and appreciate your interest in the Center for Rural Health Practice.
Consistent with our mission and vision focused on promoting health, preventing disease and improving the lives of families in northwestern
Pennsylvania and beyond, CRHP has grown significantly in forming research, teaching and outreach partnerships with schools and colleges
at the University of Pittsburgh’s campus in Pittsburgh. We have been able to successfully harness these resources to address rural health needs in our
service counties and beyond.
Our state and federally funded grant projects focus on adolescent alcohol use, a family medicine clerkship and accompanying research, providing
the public health workforce with educational, technological and managerial skills, and reducing the burden of chronic diseases through promoting
physical fitness in our communities. You can learn more about these programs and others by checking the appropriate link on our site.
If you have questions, comments or want to collaborate with us in a research, teaching or outreach initiative please contact me at 814-362-5050 or
email at yjs3@pitt.edu.
