Traffic and Parking Updates

  • Several projects during the 2017-18 years will affect traffic and parking on and around campus.

Beginning July 17, Dorothy Lane is closed from West Washington Street to West Corydon Street for a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation project to replace the bridge that crosses the Tunungwant Creek. PennDOT will also widen and add sidewalks to the road and add lighting, making it safer for pedestrians.

The Dorothy Lane parking lots of Blaisdell Hall and the Hangar Building will be closed. The lot across Dorothy Lane from the Hangar Buildilng will be open. Pedestrians will be able to cross Dorothy Lane, using the areas identified.

Anyone with mobility issues who needs to see someone in the Hangar Building is asked to call 814-362-7602 to arrange a time to meet a staff member in Room 114 of Blaisdell Hall. We recommend you park in the Blaisdell Hall lot next to Fesenmyer House.

Campus Drive is closed at Dorothy Lane. Those wishing to access the Richard E. and Ruth McDowell Sport and Fitness Center will need to approach from Nelson or Wagner avenues or Barbour St. The loop portion of campus will be accessible from the second entrance on West Washington Street.

Trails and crosswalks will remain open.

In addition, the university is constructing a new 178-bed residence hall and expanding the dining facility in the Frame-Westerberg Commons. No-parking areas will be fenced off.
