Science In Motion is a partnership between the University of Pittsburgh
at Bradford, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and area high
schools and middle schools. The goal of the partnership is to bring
high quality, state-of-the-art science equipment into local schools
to enhance existing programs and ultimately the science knowledge
of the students. Each summer, a hardy band of faculty, staff, students, alumni, advisory board members and guests take a trip together down the Allegheny River. The brainchild of Dr. Carol Baker, former Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs, the canoe trip was instituted in 1997 to reinforce the Community of Learners philosophy of doing and learning together. Students sign up for the trip because it's fun and also fulfills the physical education requirement for graduation. Home - Mission - Focus - Laboratory
