Class Attendance

* Student-athletes must attend all scheduled classes.

* Students-athletes are not permitted to miss class for pre-season

conditioning or any practices.

* Most faculty members will permit student-athletes to miss classes for

intercollegiate contests. HOWEVER, the student should be aware of the

following:

• All faculty members are sent a list of intercollegiate contests including the departure time for away contests.

• Students-athletes are responsible for notifying their instructor at the beginning of the semester and reminding them ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE if they will be missing a class due to an intercollegiate contest.

• It is the student-athletes’ responsibility to get the assignments from the faculty prior to the class missed. It is also the student-athletes responsibility to get the notes missed from a fellow classmate.

• At the discretion of the faculty member, student-athletes may be permitted to take examinations and turn in projects/papers in advance of the deadline if it conflicts with an intercollegiate contest. Faculty members are under no obligation to allow for makeup tests or to extend project/paper deadlines for student-athletes . Arrangements should be made to take the test prior to the actual test date if it conflicts with a contest.
